5. Dedicate time to crafting your thesis statement
Your thesis statement should be considered the backbone of your research paper. Grab your outline. The three points that you chose to write about should be incorporated into your thesis statement.
Your thesis might look something like this: The Battle of the Bulge was a costly one to American troops; however, it was a pivotal victory that directly led to the Allied victory in Europe. As you can see, the topic of your paper has to do with the Battle of the Bulge. Your professor can expect you to describe the battle, detail American losses, but to also explain why this battle led to an Allied victory on the European front.
6. Write an interesting introduction
